ATEVAL |RegioGreenTex celebrated its final event in Brussels

With some sadness, but also the proud feeling of a successful project, we are sending you the final newsletter of RegioGreenTex. And what better way than to share a small piece of what the final event looked and felt like:

On November 4 and 5, 2025, RegioGreenTex celebrated its final event in Brussels, bringing together consortium members, EU officials, and industry leaders to reflect on three years of collaboration and innovation. The gathering was not only a moment to look back at achievements, but also to set the stage for the future of circular textiles in Europe.

The first day, hosted at the Sofitel Hotel, was dedicated to policy and vision. High-level interventions from DG REGIO and EISMEA framed RegioGreenTex within the broader context of EU cohesion and innovation strategies. A keynote by Michiel Scheffer, President of the European Innovation Council, highlighted the project’s role as a springboard for continued investment in circular textiles. The Innovation and Investments session brought technical achievements to life, with partners presenting pioneering solutions such as Tintex’s recycled yarn processes, Officina39’s Recycrom™ sustainable dyeing, Rovitex’s ultrasonic quilting for full recyclability, and Hilaturas Mar’s hybrid yarns with recycled carbon fibre. Centexbel emphasized the power of clusters in accelerating technological change. Complementing these discussions, the Circular Garment Exhibition offered a tangible representation of RegioGreenTex’s value chain approach, drawing attention from policymakers and industry leaders alike.

The afternoon shifted focus to regional collaboration, with speakers from Tuscany, Västra Götaland, and NeRDA sharing strategies for embedding circularity into local ecosystems. DG REGIO underlined the importance of interregional investment, while EURATEX presented policy recommendations to the European Commission, paving the way for RegioGreenTex’s legacy to influence future EU initiatives. The day concluded with the unveiling of the “Threads of Innovation” photo exhibition at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Paulo Cunha, followed by a walking dinner that encouraged networking and informal exchanges.

The second day, held at Meet District Madou, turned inward to consolidate the project’s achievements and legacy tools. Presentations covered the Investment Portfolio and WP3 analysis, the Exploitation Toolkit, and Green Coaching results, showcasing measurable impacts and pathways for scaling innovations beyond the project. Partners also re-introduced tools designed to sustain RegioGreenTex’s impact, including the Digital Platform and Ellie.Connect for ongoing collaboration, and Waste Wizard, a matchmaking tool for surplus textiles. The event closed with an interactive workshop focused on maintaining momentum, leveraging developed tools, and fostering new partnerships to scale circular solutions.

One of the most symbolic legacies of RegioGreenTex is the “Threads of Innovation” photo exhibition, an artistic manifesto by photographer Francesco Pacifici. Showcased in the European Parliament, the exhibition tells the visual story of Europe’s textile circularity, from local workshops to industrial innovation. Designed as a traveling showcase, it will continue its journey across Europe, supported by a custom transport system and complemented by a digital and physical photo album, ensuring that RegioGreenTex’s story lives on.

As this newsletter marks the end of the project, it also signals a beginning. The tools, networks, and ideas born within RegioGreenTex will continue to shape Europe’s textile ecosystem, driving circularity, innovation, and interregional cooperation well beyond 2025.
