ATEVAL | Florence hosted the last meeting of the year for the European Circula-TEX project, with the participation of ATEVAL

Florence hosted the last meeting of the year for the European Circula-TEX project, in which ATEVAL participated alongside the rest of the consortium partners. This initiative focuses on developing recommendations and frameworks for the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the textile sector.

During the meeting, held on 16 and 17 December, the project partners shared the main advances and deliverables achieved in 2025, reviewed the lessons learned from this first year of collaboration and jointly defined the roadmap for 2026, marking a clear step from planning to execution.

The sessions addressed strategic priorities for the circular transition of the textile sector in Europe, including:

  • RAP models and Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) in the European Union
  • The 5R classification, separation, labelling and analysis methodologies, aimed at improving textile waste management
  • Solutions tailored to the different value chains in the textile sector, from production to end of life

As it closes a key first year of groundwork, Circula-TEX looks to 2026 as a decisive year, in which concrete results will materialise to help define the circular future of textiles in Europe. Among the main results expected for next year are:

The meeting concluded with a collaborative workshop focused on defining concepts and proposing innovative solutions for textile waste management, rethinking the end-of-life processes for these materials in line with the recommendations of the Joint Research Centre (JRC).

With strong cooperation between the consortium partners, Circula-TEX is entering the new year with the aim of transforming the knowledge generated into concrete actions, promoting more responsible, efficient and circular solutions for the European textile sector.

Circula-TEX is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 101181704.
